CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern tennis team made it nine wins in a row on Thursday, as they defeated the Blue Hose of Presbyterian in dominating fashion, winning 7-0. This was their third sweep of the season and second in the past three matches. 

The match began with a little bit of a nail biter, as the Bucs (11-5, 2-0 in conference) squeaked out a 2-1 victory in doubles, giving them the 1-0 lead. Luiza Fullana/Khyanna Singh started the match with a 6-0 shutout. Then, tied at one, Noa Boyd/Amila Jusufbegovic won their battle in 7-5 fashion. 

Singles also went in favor of the Bucs, as everyone was able to finish their match. Four sweeps is how the matches started, as Boyd dominated with a 6-1 and 6-0 victory. Kassandra Di Staulo followed that up with her tenth victory of the season, winning 6-2 and 6-1. She is now 10-0 on the season in singles competition. Fullana also won her match 6-2 and 6-1, and Marina Skegro took away a 6-3 and 6-2 victory. 

After losing the first round, Zoe Cauthen fought back in rounds two and three with 6-1 and 6-3 victories. Then, to round it out, the reigning Big South Tennis Player of the Week, Jusufbegovic, fought until the end to end with a final score of 7-6, 3-6 and 12-10.

Next Up
The Bucs head to Virginia this weekend, as they continue conference play against Radford at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Before coming home, they will head down to Farmville to take on Longwood for a 10 a.m. battle on Monday morning.
