Bucs Start Season Strong at Florence Open Wild Card

FLORENCE, S.C. – Charleston Southern tennis started the 2022-23 season off on a high note this past weekend at the Florence Open Wild Card Tournament.

Two Buccaneer doubles pairs faced off in the finals, as Amila Jusufbegovic and Noa Boyd topped teammates Khyana Singh and Kassandra di Staulo in the finals to earn a wild card into the main draw of the 25k event in October.

In singles, Luiza Fullana lost in the finals of the singles tournament, which secured her a wild card into the qualifying event of the October's 25k event.

"It was great for our girls to compete this past weekend in Florence," said head coach Anca Dumitrescu. "They got to play several singles and doubles matches and build the mental and physical strength needed for the upcoming tournaments."

The Bucs return home to host the CSU Invitational at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center September 16-18. CSU will welcome athletes from Coastal Carolina, Wofford, and College of Charleston over the weekend.
