CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern women's basketball will look for a breakthrough this weekend when it travels to Atlanta for two games at the Georgia State Holiday Classic. The Buccaneers will face South Alabama at Noon Saturday before turning around a little over 24 hours later for a 2 p.m. Sunday tip-off against host Georgia State. All games will be played inside the GSU Sports Arena.

Opening Tip
•  The Buccaneers hit the road for a weekend full action action at the Georgia State Holiday Classic, beginning with a neutral-site matchup with South Alabama Saturday before they take on the host Panthers Sunday afternoon on ESPN+.
 
•  It's the first in-season tournament for Charleston Southern since it played host to the Buccaneer Classic Nov. 24-25, 2018. During that event played inside the Buccaneer Fieldhouse, CSU met Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville.
 
•  Charleston Southern became familiar with back-to-back playing days, last season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big South adjusted its league slate to pit schools against one another on consecutive days. The last time the Bucs played under that format was a trip to Radford, Feb. 20-21.
 
•  The Buccaneers are coming off their top offensive performance of the season against Furman inside the Buc Dome Thursday night, topping out at 68 points and playing to within two, 42-40, at the halftime break.
