CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern tennis took the doubles point and each of the top-four flights in singles play on their way to a dominant 5-2 win over Lowcountry foe South Carolina State Sunday afternoon from the Buccaneer Tennis Center.

Tiffany Pyritz made it a 2-0 day on her ledger taking care of business in the singles top flight 6-0, 6-1 after taking down the top Bulldogs' (0-4) doubles pair with teammate
Zoe Cauthen by a 6-2 mark.
Charleston Southern (3-3) clinched the doubles point on court two with a 7-6 gut-check win from
Michelle Schmitz and
Liz Williams, who overcame an early deficit.
Each of the top-four Buccaneers in singles play took their matches in straight-sets with Pyritz getting the charge started at the top followed by Schmitz (No. 2: 6-4, 6-2), Williams (No. 3: 6-3, 6-3) and Cauthen (No. 4: 6-2, 6-1).
South Carolina State would make it a 3-1 CSU lead behind a win on court No. 5, but Schmitz answered right back on the second flight to clinch the match.
The Bucs improved to 14-4 all-time against their Lowcountry rival Bulldogs with an impressive 12-2 mark in Charleston.
