Bucs host pair of Lowcountry rivals, Charlotte in homestand

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Following a 4-3 victory over Peach Belt Conference powerhouse Columbus State Saturday afternoon, Charleston Southern tennis hosts a pair of Lowcountry rivals as well as Charlotte over the next four days.

Beginning with a Holy City showdown Wednesday, the Bucs host College of Charleston seeking back-to-back wins over their neighbors after last season's 4-3 upset win in Mt. Pleasant. A win also gives the Bucs their first three-game win streak just four matches into the 2019-20 season after a takedown of CAA power Elon in January.

CSU gets a two-day break before hosting Conference-USA darling Charlotte Saturday afternoon then closes the weekend with Lowountry rival South Carolina State Sunday afternoon from the Buccaneer Tennis Complex.

The Bucs are 3-2 all-time against the 49ers including a 2-1 mark at home while dominating the Bulldogs of South Carolina State 13-4 and an impressive 11-2 record at home. Charlotte and South Carolina State are two of many foes the Bucs have dominated on their home courts the past decade sporting an 81-16 mark since the 2010 season.
