CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern baseball is set to play host to Delaware State this weekend. The four-game series will begin on Friday before a doubleheader on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday.

Jaret Bennett was named starting pitcher of the week. The lefty threw a complete game to lead Charleston Southern to a 2-1 win over Kansas on Friday afternoon. Bennett threw nine complete innings on exactly 100 pitches, allowing just one unearned run on three hits and striking out six. Senior
Trent Seibert was named relief pitcher of the week. He threw two hitless innings and struck out four of the seven batters he faced to pick up his first career save in the Buccaneers' 1-0 win over Kansas on Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Padysak was named freshman of the week. Padysak threw seven shutout innings and allowing just one hit while striking out eight. His eight strikeouts are the most strikeouts by a CSU pitcher this season
Ring 'Em Up
Buccaneer pitchers have been striking out batters at an impressive rate. The Bucs are striking out 9.1 batters per nine innings and have tallied double-digit strikeouts in four games this season.

The Bucs have hosted the Hornets for two series in Charleston. They swept DSU in 2007 and took two of three games in 2017.Â
About the Hornets
Delaware State comes into the weekend with a 2-4 record. After dropping their first three games at Elon, they rebounded to take two of three at home against UMass.
