Nick Chinners has be promoted to full-time assistant after serving as the volunteer assistant for the Bucs since the 2017 season. Chinners helped guide the team to their top win total since 2011 and worked with the infield that produced two All-Conference selections (
Jason Miller andÂ
Ryan Stoudemire).
Lukas Ray has also been added as an assistant coach and will work with catchers, hitters and coach first base on game day. Prior to coming to CSU, Ray served as Recruiting Coordinator/Pitching Coach at USC-Lancaster for the 2018-2019 season. Under Ray's direction, freshman catcher Nick Cicci earned 2nd team All Region X honors as well as a spot on the Region X All defensive team as he helped USC-Lancaster win the 2017 Region X Regular Season title and finished runner-up in the 2017 Eastern District.
Addison Braswell will join the staff as the Volunteer Assistant Coach and will work with the outfielders and hitters. Most recently, Braswell served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Fla. for the 2018-2019 season. Under Braswell's direction, infielder Brett Wisely was selected in the 15th round by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2019 MLB Draft.
The Bucs will open the 2020 season on Friday, February 14 as they host Maryland at Nielsen Field at CSU Ballpark. First pitch for the season opener is set for 6pm.
