CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern swept all three doubles matches and added straight set wins on all six singles courts in topping host Presbyterian in Big South Conference play on Sunday afternoon, topping the Blue Hose 7-0 at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
The Buccaneers improve to 9-3, 4-0 in Big South action with the victory, while Presbyterian falls to 7-11-1, 0-4 in Big South play with the loss.
Alexandra Walters and Yvonne Hubler led the way for the Bucs with an 8-3 win on court no. 1 over Greer Ransom and Courtney Gardiner. Alia Nour and Angelica Sidorenko defeated Patricia Alves and Kayla Stanford on court no. 2, 8-2, while Marketa Placha and Nicolin Luecke completed the sweep with an 8-2 win over Carolina DeLoach and Caroline Ferrari on court no. 3, 8-2.
In singles action, Placha topped Ransom on court no. 1, 6-1, 6-3, while Hubler defeated Alves on court no. 2, 6-0, 6-1. Walters added a 6-1, 6-5 win over Ferrari on court no. 3, while Luecke defeated DeLoach 6-1, 6-2 on court no. 4. Nour and Mi'Kola Cooper completed the CSU sweep as Nour topped Leahy -75, 6-2 on court no. 5, while Cooper defeated Antonia Conze 6-0,6 -2 on court no. 6.
Charleston Southern returns home and remains in action on Tuesday afternoon as the Buccaneers welcome UNC Asheville to the Buccaneer Tennis Complex. First serve in doubles action between the Bucs and the Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m.
