Bucs Keep on Rolling, Down Campbell, 5-2

Box score

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Charleston Southern tennis team registered its fourth consecutive victory with a 5-2 triumph over Campbell on Friday afternoon.

CSU (13-3, 6-1) rolled once again in part due to the play of Alia Nour, who captured her 11th straight win out of the number five singles spot with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Campbell's Katya Yegoreychenko. Alexandra Walters began the year with an 11-match winning streak, and picked up her third straight win as well with a 6-2, 6-0 final margin.

The Bucs took four of the six singles matches in all, highlighted by Olga Makhova's 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win at the top spot over the Fighting Camels' Karolina Chernaya. Doubles play was also CSU's forte, as the Bucs claimed two of the three matchups thanks to Walters and Yvonne Hubler (at the number one position), and Makhova and Susita Das (number two slot).

Next up for CSU is a key home matchup with Palmetto State rival Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The Chanticleers are 13-4 overall and 5-1 in the Big South, having dropped their first conference match to Winthrop earlier today.
