CHARLESTON, S.C. - Head Softball Coach Shane Winkler will hold walk-on tryouts for any student-athletes interested in joining the 2009 softball program. Tryouts will be held at the CSU Softball Field on August 26, at 2 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference placed 1,224 out of 2,784 student-athletes – 44.0 percent -- on its prestigious annual Presidential Honor Roll list for the 2007-08 academic season, it was announced today by Big South Conference Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander. To be named to the Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better for the recently-completed academic year. The 44.0 percentage marks the fourth-straight year above the 40 percent threshold.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern has announced the hiring of Jon Laaser as the new “Voice of the Buccaneers.” Laaser will serve as the play-by-play broadcaster for football and men’s basketball, and will host the Jay Mills and Barclay Radebaugh Coaches’ Shows.
