CHARLESTON, S.C. - A trio of Charleston Southern cross country runners will take on the field at the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University on Saturday morning.
Matt Inman and Andrew Akright from the men's team will represent the Buccaneers as individuals in the men's 8000m race. Caroline Inman will represent the women's team in the 5000m race. The course is laid out at Percy Warner Park – Vaughn's Gap Cross Country Course.
The Bucs are coming off a pair of first place team finishes at the season-opening Buccaneer Open held at CSU on September 1. Matt Inman and Akright both recorded top-15 finishes for the Bucs in the season-opening event. Caroline Inman paced the women's team in the race as the freshman took second overall on the four-kilometer course.
CSU was originally scheduled to compete as a team at the 35th Winthrop/Adidas Invitational on Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C.
