Charleston Southern returns to action with a Big South Conference match at UNC Asheville on Saturday. First serve between the Bucs and Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m.

CSU (7-12, 2-3) is coming off a four-set loss to Campbell this past Tuesday at the Buc Dome. The Bucs previously defeated Presbyterian in five-sets on Sept. 30 and Gardner-Webb in straight sets on Sept 29.

Big South Freshman of the Week Kalysia Bates continues to lead CSU with 2.28 kills per set. Bates is second in the Big South in blocks per set (1.05). Kylie Klein is averaging 2.20 kills per set and is seventh in the league in hitting percentage (.298). Madison Martin leads the Bucs defensively with 4.67 digs per set.

UNC Asheville (6-9, 2-2) is coming off a five-set loss at Liberty this past Saturday and will host Winthrop on Friday night before facing CSU on Saturday. The Bulldogs' Cara Guthrie is currently third in the Big South in kills per set (3.64) and second in the league in points per set (4.12). Ava Venema is fifth in the Big South in hitting percentage (.326).

The Bulldogs have started the season a perfect 3-0 at home with wins over Montreat, Gardner-Webb and Campbell. CSU has struggled on the road this season with a 1-5 record and its only win coming in five-sets at The Citadel.
