Charleston Southern looks to pick up its third straight Big South win of the season when it hosts Campbell on Tuesday at the Buccaneer Field House. First serve between the Bucs and Camels is set for 6 p.m.
The CSU volleyball team is hosting an Operation Christmas Child Box Drive and fans are encouraged to bring a filler item for a box. Stick around to hear about the impact that your boxes make on children all over the world. Chapel credit is available for the game.
CSU (7-11, 2-2) is coming off a five-set win over Presbyterian this past Saturday at the Buc Dome. The Bucs previously defeated Gardner-Webb in straight sets on Friday. The last defeat for CSU came at the hands of Big South leader High Point on Sept. 23.
Big South Freshman of the Week Kalysia Bates continues to help lead CSU with 2.19 kills per set and 1.04 blocks per set. Senior Kylie Klein also leads the Bucs offensively with 2.23 kills per set and 0.86 blocks per set. Junior libero Madison Martin leads the defensive efforts with 4.70 digs per set.
Campbell (10-8, 0-4) is still seeking its first Big South win of the season and is fresh off a 3-1 defeat against Radford on Sept. 29. Allena Heath leads the Camels offensively with 3.81 kills per set, while Kayla Schanback leads the team defensively with 4.22 digs per set.
In the last meeting, Campbell defeated CSU 3-1 in the first round of the Big South Tournament on Nov. 18, 2016. The Bucs previously fell at Campbell 3-2 on Oct. 29, 2016, but defeated the Camels 3-2 the last time the teams played in Charleston on Oct. 1, 2016.
