CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern took a step forward in 2015 behind a senior class paced by Ashley Higginbothem and Meredith Parrott. Take a look back at the campaign here.
Higginbothem will receive the Hunter Cup at CSU's commencement ceremony on May 7 thanks to her work in the classroom as a Pre-Professional Biology major, and on the volleyball court for Christy Mooberry's Bucs. A member of the dean's list at Charleston Southern, as well as the Big South Presidential Honor Roll, Higginbothem holds a 3.91 GPA.
Higginbothem, the Bucs' libero, led CSU in digs and digs per game this past season. She easily surpassed the program single season record with 603 digs, and capped her career second in school history in the category. Higginbothem was third in the Big South in digs per game, and among the top-20 nationally.
Siraya Windsor, who missed most of the season due to injury, was honored as CSU's team sportsman at Monday's 50th annual CSU Athletic Awards banquet. Windsor will be a key part of an otherwise young nucleus in 2016.
