CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern finishes up their tournament slate this weekend at the Carolina Classic presented by Hyatt Place hosted by the University of South Carolina. The Buccaneers take on Wofford, host USC and East Carolina this weekend inside the Carolina Volleyball Center.
The Bucs open their tournament slate on Friday afternoon against Wofford at 4 p.m. CSU closes out the weekend against South Carolina at 1 p.m. and East Carolina at 4 p.m.

Scouting the Opposition
Wofford enters the weekend with a 5-6 overall record in the 2015 season. The Terriers swept their competition at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State from September 4-5 and have picked up a win over the Big South's Presbyterian early in the season. Wofford struggled over the past weekend, falling in all three matches at the CofC Invitational in dropping to Tennessee, College of Charleston and Jacksonville.
For the season, Bella Santoro leads the Terriers offensive efforts with 2.95 kills per set, while three other Wofford hitters are also averaging more than two kills per set. Dani Densford leads the team with a .342 hitting percentage, while Molly Mayo sets up the offense with 10.24 assists per set. Defensively, Jessica Graham is the team leader with 4.08 digs per set, while Colleen Reilly leads the Terriers at the net with 0.80 blocks per set.
South Carolina enters their second home tournament of the fall season this weekend with a 4-5 overall record, posting wins over Southeastern Louisiana, N.C. Central, Clemson and Winthrop. This is the second tournament the Gamecocks have hosted this fall with the first coming on August 28-29. USC went 2-1 over the tournament with wins over SE Louisiana and N.C. Central, while falling to N.C. State.
Dessaa Legros leads the Gamecocks with 4.00 kills per set, while Sarah Blomgren and Darian Dozier are both averaging multiple kills per set. Dozier is the team leader with a .314 hitting percentage on the year. Setting up the offense, Aubrey Ezell leads the team with 10.06 assists per set. Defensively, Ezell leads the team with 3.06 digs per set, while Dozier is the team leader at the net with 1.00 blocks per set.
East Carolina posts a 6-2 overall record in the 2015 season with the Pirates posting wins over Savannah State, N.C. Central, Presbyterian, Hampton (twice) and William & Mary. The Pirates went 2-1 this past weekend at the ECU Invitational, falling to Western Carolina in their lone loss of the weekend.
Ashton Mares leads the ECU offense on the season with 3.14 kills per set, while three other players are averaging multiple kills per set on the season. Kierra Lee-Dunson is ECU's top hitter on the season with a .333 hitting percentage, while Sabrina Gonzalez is the team leader with 10.62 assists per set. Defensively, Erika Figueroa is the team leader with 5.45 digs per set, while Ashley McRae is the blocking leader with 0.76 blocks per set.
Recapping Tuesday against The Citadel
Charleston Southern fell in five sets on the road at crosstown rival The Citadel on Tuesday night, dropping 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 17-15, inside the McAlister Field House. The Buccaneers rallied from an 8-5 deficit in the fifth set to take a 13-11 lead, utilizing a trio of blocks from Connor Malone during the stretch. The Citadel responded with three straight points to get to match point. Despite a pair of Addison Kaderli kills, the Bulldogs rallied to take the final frame and the win.
