CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern volleyball team opened preparations for the 2015 season today as the Buccaneers reported for their fall preseason camp on Friday morning. The Bucs open their season on the road at the Big Orange Bash hosted by Clemson University on August 28-29.
The Bucs begin their fall preseason slate on Saturday morning as they begin fitness testing, before opening their main practice sessions on Monday morning.
"At the end of the spring season, each athlete had personal goals to work on this summer," commented head volleyball coach Christy Mooberry on the start of preseason camp. "We've talked as a team about how each of those little steps plays into our big picture team goals. Many of them have been working hard this summer to bring their best to the court and we anticipate having a more advanced starting point is this year. We certainly have more depth than we've had in the past two years and I'm excited to see what that brings to the court. "
Seniors Meredith Parrott, Siraya Windsor, Cassidy Greer, Katrina Houston and Ashley Higginbothem all return to the roster as the Bucs return all seven starters from the 2014 squad who made major strides on the court under the direction of Mooberry.
Trips to South Carolina and Clemson, and a cross-country trip to the Grand Canyon highlight the 2015 schedule for the Bucs, while CSU will host Big South rivals Campbell, High Point, UNC Asheville, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Winthrop and Coastal Carolina, inside the Buc Dome.
