CHARLESTON, S.C. - Trips to South Carolina and Clemson, and a cross-country trip to the Grand Canyon highlight the 2015 Charleston Southern volleyball slate as Head Coach Christy Mooberry announced the release of the schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The Bucs will travel to road tournaments hosted by Clemson, Elon, Grand Canyon University and South Carolina to open the 2015 season. CSU's 2015 home slate includes Big South matches against Campbell, High Point, UNC Asheville, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Winthrop and Coastal Carolina.
"We are excited about the different teams we will be playing this fall," commented Mooberry on the schedule. "Our trip out west will give us some different teams we haven't seen before to play against as well as be a great team building experience for this class with a large number of seniors and freshmen. Our preseason tournaments closer to home offer the opportunity to play against ACC and SEC opponents, and the team is excited for the opportunity to challenge ourselves in that way, it will certainly prepare us for conference play."
The Bucs return nine members from last year's squad, including Big South All-Academic selection Meredith Parrott and fellow seniors Cassidy Greer, Siraya Windsor, Katrina Houston and Ashley Higginbothem.
"I'm excited to continue to move forward with this team," said Mooberry. "Our roster is senior and freshmen heavy. The upperclassmen really want to make a statement this year and the freshmen want to break in and show what they can do."
