Bucs against Coastal Carolina...
Charleston Southern is 4-28 overall going back to the 2000 season against Coastal Carolina. The Bucs last victory over the Chanticleers came in 2012 inside the Buc Dome as CSU topped Coastal Carolina in a five-set thriller on October 5, 3-2.

Charleston Southern rallied late in each set as the Buccaneers closed out the home portion of their 2013 schedule, but Coastal Carolina was able to hold off the CSU charge in dealing the Bucs a 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 loss.
Siraya Windsor led the CSU offense on the evening with eight kills and added 12 digs in the match, while Katrina Houston and LaVenice had seven kills apiece to pace the Buccaneers offense. Cassidy Greer and Kirsten Struksnes combined for 27 set assists in the match, while Klinger and Houston had two aces apiece. Murphy led the CSU backline with a match-high 14 digs in the three set match, while LaVenice had a team-high four blocks at the net.
Scouting the Chanticleers..
Coastal Carolina enters the match with a 13-4 overall record on the season and 3-1 record in Big South Conference play after topping Presbyterian, High Point and Campbell. The Chants lone loss in conference action came at home against Winthrop, 3-1.
Leah Hardeman leads the Chants offense on the season with 3.86 kills per set, while Eszter Nagy is averaging 2.43 to pace the Coastal offense. The Chants are hitting .249 as a team on the season paced by Nagy's .438 hitting percentage. Sam Skryd sets up the CCU offense with 9.86 assists per set, while Hardeman is the team leader with 0.34 aces per set.
Jenna Orner is the team leader on the backline with 4.52 digs per set, while Lian Bernett is averaging 2.75 digs per set. At the net, Annayka Legros is the team leader with 0.94 blocks per set, while Nagy is close behind at 0.90.
Meredith Parrott, CSU, Jr., Outside Hitter
Parrrott continues to sit among both the CSU and Big South leaders on the season in multiple categories, as the junior outside hitter sits 3rd overall in kills, 3rd overall in points and 6th in hitting percentage on the season in the conference rankings. For the year, Parrott is averaging 3.46 kills per set while hitting .290 from the floor. She is averaging 3.96 points per game overall and is coming off of a strong weekend performance that saw her connect on 19 kills against Campbell.
Taylor Allman, CSU, So., Libero
Allman leads the Bucs on the season from the backline as the sophomore libero enters the weekend fourth in the Big South in averaging 4.51 digs per set. Allman is coming off of a weekend that saw her set a CSU record with 36 digs in the loss to Presbyterian, while averaging 5.91 digs per set on the week. The sophomore libero's 36 digs currently is the most in a match in the Big South this season. Other highlights from this season include 22 digs against USC Upstate, 20 against N.C. Central and 19 against Cincinnati.

Kylie Klein led the Buccaneers with nine kills as Charleston Southern hit .280 as a team in sweeping host South Carolina State for the second time this season, 25-18, 25-16, 25-20.
Meredith Parrott added seven kills and four blocks, while Amanda Metz had seven kills and five digs for the Bucs.Cassidy Greer set up the Bucs offense with 15 assists, while Kirsten Struksnes added nine assists of her own. Taylor Allman had a match-high nine digs to go with two service aces, while Connor Malone added three blocks at the net to pace the Bucs in the non-conference midweek matchup.
Charleston Southern senior setter Kirsten Struksnes is the lone international player on the CSU roster in the 2014 season, coming to the Bucs from Calgary, Alberta. During her time with the Bucs, Struksnes is sitting seventh all-time among the career leaders with 1,374 career set assists. Highlights from her playing career include four 50-plus set assist matches, including two back-to-back on Oct. 9, 2012 at The Citadel (55 assists) and Oct. 12 vs. Liberty (56 assists).
Record Setting Performance...
Allman broke a CSU record for digs in a single match as the sophomore libero recorded 36 digs over the four sets to break the previous record held by Jennifer Monson set on November 3, 2000 against UNC Asheville with 32 digs. Allman recorded 11 in the first set, six in the second, eight in the third and 11 in the fourth to pace CSU in the game and record the highest dig effort in the Big South in a single match to date in the 2014 season. Allman is currently fourth in the Big South in averaging 4.58 digs and continues to provide steady leadership for the Bucs with 16 matches where she has reached double-digits.
Welcome to the Coaching Staff...
CSU welcomed new assistant coach Lauren Comfort to the CSU staff this past January, coming to the Bucs by way of Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tenn. During her time with the Trojans', she assisted in all areas of the program. Her playing days saw Comfort standout at Olivet Nazarene Unversity where she led the team to a 124-49 overall record and 41-2 in conference play, where she finished with 1,516 career digs and 169 aces.
