Last Time These Teams Met...
Meredith Parrott had 10 kills and Siraya Windsor narrowly missed out on a double-double as Charleston Southern swept visiting Savannah State on Tuesday night inside the Buc Dome, 25-10, 25-22, 25-17.
Parrott hit .409 in the match to pace the Buccaneers' offense in the match, while Windsor added nine kills and a pair of service aces as CSU trailed only once in the evening in snapping a four-match losing streak.
Cassidy Greer set up the Bucs attack with 20 assists, while Brooke Green had eight assists in the third set to lead CSU to the win. Taylor Allman led the backline with 14 digs, while Windsor added 12 in narrowly missing out on her eighth double-double of the season. Kylie Klein added two blocks to lead the Bucs at the net.
Savannah State was led by Zariya Thomas' six kills in the match, while Caitlynn Masoe had 12 assists as the Tigers hit -.053 from the floor as a team. Alexis Washington led the SSU defensive efforts with 11 digs.
Scouting the Tigers...
Justice Dilworth leads Savannah State on the season in averaging 2.17 kills per set, while Gabrielle Nathaniel is the team-leader with a .145 hitting percentage. Lynae Bryant is the team leader with 4.71 assists per set, while Caitlynn Masoe is close behind at 4.65 assists per set. Dilworth is the team leader with 0.24 service aces per set.
Defensively, Dilworth is the team leader with 2.02 digs per set, while Alexis Washington is close behind with 1.96 digs per set. At the net, Autumn Session is the team leader with 0.44 blocks per set, while Nathaniel is averaging 0.38 per set.
Meredith Parrott, CSU, Jr., Outside Hitter
Parrrott continues to sit among both the CSU and Big South leaders on the season in multiple categories, as the junior outside hitter sits 4th overall in kills, 3rd overall in points and 7th in hitting percentage on the season in the conference rankings. For the year, Parrott is averaging 3.53 kills per set while hitting .287 from the floor. She is averaging 4.00 points per game overall and is coming off of a strong weekend performance that saw her connect on 17 kills and added three blocks against Winthrop. Among her season highlights includes a 20 kill performance against Stetson, as well as 18 against James Madison.
Justice Dilworth, SSU, Jr., Outside Hitter
Dilworth leads Savannah State's efforts on the season as the junior outside hitter is averaging 2.17 kills per set and 2.02 digs per set. The Kingsland, Ga., native has four of the five double-digit kill efforts on the season for the Tigers including a season-high 13 against Brewton-Parker. She has displayed her overall game on the court in also recording three of SSU's five double-digit digs games, including 12 vs. The Citadel. For the season, she has connected on a .033 hitting percentage.

Welcome to the Coaching Staff...
CSU welcomed new assistant coach Lauren Comfort to the CSU staff this past January, coming to the Bucs by way of Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tenn. During her time with the Trojans', she assisted in all areas of the program. Her playing days saw Comfort standout at Olivet Nazarene Unversity where she led the team to a 124-49 overall record and 41-2 in conference play, where she finished with 1,516 career digs and 169 aces.
The Bucs have three players from the state of South Carolina on the 2014 roster with Siraya Windsor (Lexington), Liza Walker (Fort Mill) and Taylor Allman (Little River), all representing the Palmetto State.

Charleston Southern fell in a four-set thriller despite a record-setting performance by CSU libero Taylor Allman on Friday evening inside the Buc Dome, dropping to visiting Presbyterian in the Big South opener, 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 25-17.
Allman broke a CSU record for digs in a single match as the sophomore libero recorded 36 digs over the four sets to break the previous record held by Jennifer Monson set on November 3, 2000 against UNC Asheville with 32 digs. Allman recorded 11 in the first set, six in the second, eight in the third and 11 in the fourth to pace CSU in the game and record the highest dig effort in the Big South in a single match to date in the 2014 season.
Charleston Southern dropped their second match of the weekend inside the Buc Dome, falling to visiting Winthrop on Saturday afternoon in four sets, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-15.
Meredith Parrott led the Bucs with a match-high 17 kills on the day as the junior outside hitter hit .282 from the floor in the match. Siraya Windsor added nine kills and six digs, while Katrina Houston had eight kills and three blocks in the loss for the Bucs.
Charleston Southern senior setter Kirsten Struksnes is the lone international player on the CSU roster in the 2014 season, coming to the Bucs from Calgary, Alberta. During her time with the Bucs, Struksnes is sitting seventh all-time among the career leaders with 1,374 career set assists. Highlights from her playing career include four 50-plus set assist matches, including two back-to-back on Oct. 9, 2012 at The Citadel (55 assists) and Oct. 12 vs. Liberty (56 assists).
