CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern dropped a 3-1 decision to Stetson on Friday afternoon as the Buccaneers fell to the Hatters in their opening matchup at The Citadel invitational, 20-25, 29-27, 25-21, 27-25.
Siraya Windsor had a match-high 20 kills for the Bucs, while Meredith Parrott had 15 kills as CSU hit .270 from the floor as a team in the loss. Cassidy Greer had 34 set assists to set up the Bucs offense, while Windsor and Taylor Allman had seven digs apiece on the backline.
McKenna Foster led the Hatters with 14 kills on the afternoon, while Shelby Connors (13 kills) and Madison Akins (11 kills), were also in double-digits in the match. Kayla Weller set up the Stetson attack with 31 assists as the Hatters hit .323 as a team in the frame. Alexa Drost led the defensive effort with 10 digs.
The Bucs fall to 1-3 overall on the season with the loss, while Stetson improves to 3-1 overall.
CSU is back in action tomorrow afternoon as the Bucs take on North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. inside the McAlister Field House. The Bucs close out the weekend against tournament host The Citadel with first serve set for 6 p.m.
