HARRISONBURG, Va. - Charleston Southern junior outside hitter Meredith Parrott was named to the JMU Classic All-Tournament team on Sunday morning after leading the Buccaneers in their opening weekend tournament.
Parrott, a Mobile, Ala. native, led the Bucs to a 1-2 record overall on the weekend, leading the Bucs to a 3-1 win over Norfolk State in the tournament's final match.
For the week, Parrott led the Bucs in averaging 4.27 kills, hitting .310 from the floor over the three match stretch. The junior added a team-best 0.82 blocks per set overall with four solo blocks among her totals, while adding 1.36 digs on her rotation to the back row.
Her best match of the tournament came in CSU's 3-1 win over Norfolk State where she finished with 17 kills, hitting .371 from the floor with four service aces, six digs and two blocks.
Parrott and the Bucs are back in action this upcoming weekend at The Citadel Invitational on Friday and Saturday as CSU takes on Stetson, North Carolina A&T and host Citadel.
