Volleyball reports for fall preseason; Practice begins Friday morning

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern opens up fall preseason on Friday morning as the CSU volleyball team reported back to campus Thursday afternoon in preparation for the 2014 season. The Buccaneers and head coach Christy Mooberry open up the season on the road at the James Madison Classic on Aug. 29-30, while CSU hosts College of Charleston in the Bucs home opener on Sept. 9.

CSU returns a battle-tested squad in juniors Meredith Parrott, Cassidy Greer, Katrina Houston, Siraya Windsor, senior Kirsten Struksnes and sophomore Taylor Allman in Mooberry's second year at the helm of the program.

The Bucs open up their practice schedule on Friday morning with fitness testing, and will continue to practice leading up to their season opening match on Aug. 29 against Villanova at 5 p.m.

Highlighting the CSU schedule this season includes the return of the Wingate Invitational at Charleston Southern University, while the Bucs will also host College of Charleston and Big South showdowns against Presbyterian, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Radford, High Point and Campbell.
