The Bucs are coming off a weekend where they split the team between two meets and saw marks that rank among the top ten in the program's history.
Makennah Mills and Bethany Thornhill paced each other in the Charlotte Invitational's 3K Steeplechase. Their marks now rank fourth and fifth respectively. At the same meet, Javenique McDowell's 2:17.92 800 meters was the eighth fastest in program history.
In the field, Milan Williams now ranks in the program's top 10 in all three throwing events. She ranks fourth in the shot put, sixth in the discus, and second in the hammer throw, just 0.15 off of the program record meaning that's a mark she'll be working towards.
Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium is home to a BSS 1000 track surface, constructed in 2015 after the track was removed from Wallace Wade Stadium. A walkway surrounds the track to allow spectators to view any event in the stadium. Additionally, there is bleacher seating for 500 located next to the finish line.
