A pair of freshmen placed among the top three in the women's 200m dash to pace the Buccaneers in the event. Lauryn James finished second overall in 25.02, while Allen crossed the line in third in 25.29. Chaneal Harris was 39th overall in 26.72 to round out the group.
Javenique McDowell was the Bucs' leader in the women's 800m race on Saturday. McDowell was 19th overall in the field in 2:24.25.
Charleston Southern's quartet of Rhone' Allen, Eden Senior, Lauryn James, and Caroline Edmondson finished in the top three in the women's 1600m relay. The Bucs finished .17 behind South Florida to take second in the field after crossing the line in 3:53.74.
Milan Williams was one of four athletes to clear 17-meters on the day in the women's weight throw event. The junior achieved clean marks on four of her six attempts, with her final throw of 17.47m putting her third overall in the field.
Caroline Inman took on the field in the women's 5000m run to pace the Bucs in her lone action on the weekend. The freshman crossed the line ninth overall in 18:53.28 to lead CSU in the event.
Charleston Southern is back in action next weekend at the VMI Team Challenge hosted in Lexington, Va. on January 26.
