COLUMBIA, S.C. - Shantel Ardley's third-place result in the women's 60m hurdles paced the Buccaneers on the first day of the Gamecock Inaugural.

Shantel Ardley finished among the top three in the women's 60m hurdles to lead the Bucs in the event. The junior crossed the line in 9.18 to pace CSU.
Eden Senior continued her strong spring in leading three Buccaneers in the women's 400m dash. Senior was first among the CSU athletes and seventh overall in the field in 58.24. Caroline Edmondson was 13th overall with a time of 59.14, while Ardley crossed in 1:00.92 to place 22nd.
Freshman Lauryn James narrowly missed out on advancing to the finals of the women's 60m dash invitational. James crossed the line in 7.59 to miss out on Saturday's finals by nine-hundredths of a second in the preliminary round.
Junior Victoria Gibson was CSU's lone representative in the women's triple jump on the first day of the Gamecock Inaugural. Her first attempt went 11.31m to lead the Bucs in the event and finish sixth overall in the field.
Milan Williams finished 11th overall in the women's shot put event on Friday. The junior had three clean marks in her four attempts with her second traveling 11.26m to lead the Bucs.
Sophomore Rebecca Cadet and freshman Makennah Mills took on the field in the women's mile run early Friday afternoon. Cadet paced the way finishing 21st overall in 5:33.80, while Mills finished 26th in 5:38.23.
Senior Bethany Thornhill took on the field in the women's 3000m race. She crossed the line in 10:49.59 to place 19th overall.
Day two of the Gamecock Inaugural starts at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5000m run and the 11 a.m. women's weight throw.
