Buccaneers add five to women's cross country/track & field rosters

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jim Stintzi announced the women's cross country and track early signing class on Monday evening. Five athletes signed to enroll at CSU and join the Buccaneers roster for the 2019-20 season.

Emily Francis, Annie Akagi, Emily Danielsson, Destiny Wallace, and Caitlyn Ettienne all signed early with the Buccaneers and will join a strong team that finished third in the 2018 Big South Outdoor Championships, as well as a third-place result at the 2018 Cross Country Championships.

Hereford High School * Parkton, Md.

  • Part of the State Championship Cross Country team at Hereford High School
  • Top times of 5:21 and 11:53
  • Plans on majoring in Wildlife Biology at CSU

Annie Akagi

St. Sebastian/Homeschooled * Potomac Falls, Va.

  • Finished second overall at the Virginia Catholic State Cross Country meet
  • Finished with times of 19:46, 11:39, 5:04 (1500)
  • National Hispanic Scholar
  • Plans on majoring in Kinesiology (Clinical) and minor in Spanish at CSU
