MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Charleston Southern women's track and field team started the CCU Shamrock Invitational, Friday, the largest meet on the east coast this weekend with more than 38 universities represented.

Tia Habersham finished 20th in the hammer throw, tossing it 42.11m while Breeann Guerra's mark of 37.21m was enough for 34th.

Sequoya Casey led the way with a high jump mark of 1.60m, clearing the bar at 5-3.00 on her first attempt. Ellynn Decker cleared the opening mark of 1.45m (4-9.00) with ease, but was not able to get over the next height, finishing 26th.

Hallie Wright finished 19th in the 5,000m run, finishing in 20:27.64. Tracey Epley's time of 22:39.77 was 24th.

CSU entered two teams in the 4x200m relay, with Patria Norman, Amerikorie Odey, Jessica Thomas and Gabrielle Houston finishing finishing seventh in 1:40.60, while Tamisha Foster, Sequoya Casey, Deona Jones and Channell Futrell finished 18th in 1:47.14.

Action will continue from Doug Shaw Stadium on Saturday.
