Norman Withdraws From Heptathlon

EUGENE, Ore. - Patria Norman completed two of the final three events in the heptathlon before withdrawing with a slight pain in her leg at the 2009 USA Junior National Championships.

Norman finished 11th in the long jump, getting out 5.06m (16-7.25) on her final attempt after fouling on each of her first two. In the javelin, Norman was 19th with a best throw of 21.75m (71-04). In 11th place after day one with 2,586, she amassed 597 points on day two for a six-event total of 3,483 points.

Norman's two events Sunday ended the meet for CSU after taking four athletes to compete in the USA National and Junior National Championships.
