CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Charleston Southern's Filippa Ericson and Madalina Man started competition at the ITA Carolinas Regional on Thursday. Ericson and Man will both be competing in singles action and the duo will compete as a doubles tandem over the four-day event hosted at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Man is battling through the women's singles B bracket this weekend. The sophomore opened play on Thursday morning with a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win over UNC Wilmington's Madelaine Muller-Hughes. She followed up in the round of 16 with a match against Gardner-Webb's Valentine Limauge set to start at 9 a.m. on Friday morning.
Man and Ericson opened doubles competition on Thursday as well. The duo opened the weekend with an 8-3 win over Charlotte's Tai Martin and Alexandra Lee in the round of 64. The Bucs fell in the 32s round to Wake Forest's Emma Davis and Chandler Carter, 8-0.
Ericson starts singles play in the women's Division I singles bracket on Friday morning at 9 a.m. against Appalachian State's Katherine Earnhardt.
