CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern's season-opening women's tennis match between the Buccaneers and UNC Wilmington scheduled for Saturday, February 4, has been rescheduled due to the threat of inclement weather this weekend. The match has been moved to Thursday, February 9, with first serve at the UNCW Tennis Complex set for 2 p.m.
The match will kick-off a busy weekend for CSU tennis as the Buccaneers will host Wofford (Feb. 11) and South Carolina State (Feb. 12) following the opener at UNCW.
The Buccaneers were picked third in the Big South women's tennis preseason poll released mid-January by the conference office. CSU returns a pair of Big South All-Conference singles players in Nicolin Luecke and Sophie Cloessner, to top the lineup while Mi'Kola Cooper, Valeria Koussenkova, Kristen Farmer, and Kimberley Koerner, all return for the Bucs in 2017. Newcomers Yana Morar, Ally Blake, and Femcke van Rensburg will also battle for playing time in the CSU lineup this season.
