CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern women's soccer team heads to Orangeburg on Sunday to face South Carolina State in a game that was postponed earlier this season by Hurricane Florence.
Kickoff is at 1 p.m. and live stats will be available.
The Buccaneers (6-4-2) head into the homestretch of the regular season looking to build on the momentum from a 2-0 win over High Point on Wednesday. CSU got first half goals from Kat Klingensmith and Danielle Maggio a Jazmin Gonzalez shutout, her third of the season, in knocking off the defending Big South champions.
Maggio became the 10th different CSU player and fifth freshman to score a goal this season. That group is led by fellow freshman Riley Rumbley, who has a team-leading three goals, and Kayla Robinson and Sidney Doherty with two each. Doherty also leads the Bucs with three assists, seven points and 27 shots.
Gonzalez has started eight games and ranks second in the Big South in goals against average (1.06) and save percentage (.866) and is third in saves per game (7.25). Alyssa Dellacqua has started the other four contests and has a 1.16 GAA and .815 save percentage. With 239 career saves, Dellacqua is only four away from moving past Pam Ramler for fourth in school history.
South Carolina State is 0-9-1 on the year after a 6-1 loss to USC Upstate on Tuesday. The Bucs hold a 10-1 lead in the all-time series including a 3-0 victory last year in Charleston.
CSU returns to Big South play at Winthrop on Wednesday before hosting Hampton for Senior Day next Saturday.
