Erica Gazzani scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute and Chelsea Frankeny blocked a shot in front of the net in the final second as Charleston Southern topped visiting Gardner-Webb on Saturday afternoon at the CSU Soccer Field, 1-0.  Gazzani's goal came off of a free kick from 20 yards out with the junior midfielder bending the ball into the left corner of the net off the deflection from GWU goalkeeper Keely Brown to put the Bucs ahead 1-0 midway through the second half.

Alyssa Dellacqua

Recapping CSU's Last Game
Charleston Southern was unable to put a stop to a hot start by High Point University on Saturday afternoon as the Buccaneers fell to the Panthers, 3-1 on CSU's Senior Day.  The Buccaneers (6-7, 2-3) were out-shot 23-9 in the contest and the Panthers (8-5-2, 4-1-1) held the 10-0 advantage on corner kicks.  Liz Amanda Brown faced an aggressive High Point offense and recorded 12 saves in the net for the Buccaneers.  CSU's Anna Sells scored the Buccaneers only goal of the match in the 84th minute.  Following a scramble in the box, Sells won the ball and sent it rolling to the back of the net with a slide towards the goal.

Big South Standout
After contributing goals in both of last week's matches, senior forward Anna Sells leads the Big South with eight goals for the season.  Sells also leads the conference in game-winning goals with four and ranks second for most points in the Big South with 17 points so far this year.
