CSU will feature the same lineup it did this past Monday and Tuesday at the Briar's Creek Invitational. The Bucs placed 14th in an elite field featuring ten top-50 programs, including four ranked inside the top-30. Junior Hayley McNeill once again paced CSU with a T-22nd place finish in the field of 93 plays. McNeill had notched top-ten showings in each of her previous two tournaments.
Although CSU finished in the back half of the field at Briar's Creek, coach Matt Cram-Smith's squad did play some solid golf. The Bucs were ahead of No. 35 North Carolina and No. 48 Wisconsin through 36 holes, and in position for a top-ten finish heading into the final day.
Senior Shelby Thompson has continued to give CSU a dynamic 1-2 punch at the top of its lineup, alongside McNeill. Thompson finished tied for 35th earlier this week, posted a final round two-over 74.
This is the first time the Babs Steffens Invitational has been played since 2012. Stetson captured the title that year. Following Tuesday's final round, CSU will just have just more tune up for the conference championship. That will take place April 3-4 at the Web.com Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
