CSU women third after first round of Big South golf championships

GREENWOOD, SC - Senior Tiffany Shoppe posted a first-round 72 to tie for first-place individually, pacing Charleston Southern's women's golf team to a third-place standing after one day of play at the 2004 PUPS Big South Conference women's golf championships.

CSU enters round two on Tuesday 16 shots behind tournament leader Coastal Carolina and eight shots behind second-place Birmingham Southern. The tournament will conclude on Wednesday.

Erica Donovan was CSU's second best finisher in round one, posting an 82, which tied her for 17th-place. Sara McFadden's 85 tied her for 22nd place overall, while Julie St. Onge posted a first-round 86, tying for 25th individually.
