CHARLESTON, S.C. – Seventh-year women's basketball head coach Fred Applin announced the team's 2018-19 Big South schedule Tuesday afternoon.

The Buccaneers are set for an 18-game conference schedule beginning with a home bout against newcomer Hampton Jan. 5 and ending inside the Buc Dome when Longwood comes to town March 9 for Senior Day.

After three home contests against Hampton, Campbell and Radford across the first five conference games, the Bucs hit the road for four-straight with stops at first-year member USC Upstate, High Point, Gardner-Webb and ending at Presbyterian.

"There's always the possibility we play four games on the road to compete for the championship during the tournament, so I think that stretch will help prepare us down the road," said Applin of the four-game road swing. "I think it's an opportunity for everyone to come together spending four-straight games on the road to see how tough we are and where we need to improve before we do hit the tournament."

Those four contests close the January portion of the schedule as CSU returns home to host UNC Asheville, USC Upstate and High Point.

Over the final six contests, the Bucs travel to Hampton, Campbell and UNC Asheville while hosting Gardner-Webb, Winthrop and Longwood before the Big South Conference Tournament.

Senior Day against Longwood March 9 marks the final regular season home contest for the class of Ke'Asia Jackson, Shelby Wilbanks, Rachel Burns, Breannah Bretches, Weknyne Dumorne and Lexii Cassell.

With the addition of Hampton and USC Upstate, the tournament format has changed this season with the higher seeds hosting the first round March 12, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds hosting quarterfinals and semifinals March 14 and 15 with the highest remaining seed hosting the championship March 17.
