Jackson earns Big South Player of the Week honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) – Charleston Southern sophomore guard Ke'Asia Jackson was named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Jackson scored a career-high 29 points and sent the Buccaneers into an overtime that resulted in a tough 58-53 loss at Western Carolina last Friday.  The Irmo, S.C.-native put up 11 points in the fourth quarter and tied the game up five times throughout the 45 minutes.  She sent the contest into extra minutes after sinking a jumper for her 11thfield goal with just 10 seconds remaining.  Jackson earned seven of her 29 points from the charity line, shooting an impressive 87.5% from the free-throw line.

Jackson currently leads the Big South with 15.8 points per game and a 92.3% average from the stripe.  In her 10 performances on the season, she has recorded nine double-digit games, including two 20+ games.

Liberty forward Keyen Green was named the Come Ready Nutrition Freshman of the Week.
