CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern women's basketball team and head coach Fred Applin announced the signing of Shauntavia Dobson to a National Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 school year.
"I am excited about Shauntavia joining the Buc Family next season," commented Applin on Dobson's signing. "She brings the total package both on and off the court, and we look forward to seeing what she can do at CSU."
Dobson comes to Charleston, S.C., and Charleston Southern University from Northeast High School where she was a two-time All-Broward County Second Team Sun-Sentinel selection, as well as earning The Peach State Invitational All-Star Game MVP honors in 2012. While at Northeast, she was a four year starter with the Hurricanes, as well as a three-time captain on the team.
She led Broward County in her sophomore season, averaging 17.3 points and four assists per game in earning Northeast MVP honors. She backed it up in her junior season, averaging 13 points and five assists per game in winning MVP honors for the second year in a row. She also currently possesses the Northeast High School single game scoring record with 39 points in game.

"She will impact our program immediately," Applin continued. "She is an exceptional player and is a gifted ball-handler as well as a defender. Shauntavia is passionate about the game and her competitiveness on the court makes her stands out."
