Mikey Bell comes was hired by Christi Musser as her second assistant in the summer of 2023. She comes to Charleston Southern after being at Northern Illinois for four seasons, where she spent the first two seasons as a volunteer assistant for the Huskies before joining the full-time staff in 2021. While at Northern Illinois, Bell helped the Huskies win 26 games in 2023 and have three players named to the All-MAC Team.
Bell also spent time as a volunteer assistant at Florida Atlantic University, her alma mater, where she focused on catcher development as well as assisting pitchers. Prior to returning to FAU, she spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Eastern Illinois, primarily working with the catchers and outfielders as well as in daily bullpen sessions.
As a player, Bell began her career at Lipscomb, where she was a member of the A-SUN All-Freshman Team and earned Academic honors. After one year with the Bison, Bell went on to have a successful career with Florida Atlantic, winning back-to-back Conference USA regular-season championships in 2015 and 2016.
