ROCK HILL, S.C. - Charleston Southern placed three runners in the top-125 as the Buccaneers finished 22nd overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet held at Winthrop University on Friday afternoon.
The Buccaneers capped arguably one of the best seasons in program history at the regional meet. CSU won a pair of regular season titles, recorded an individual title (Jeryck Wilson at Charleston Collegiate), and placed a CSU-record five individuals in the top 10 at the Big South Championships. The Buccaneers finished second overall at the conference meet to equal their best finish in program history.
Wilson placed 65th overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional to record his personal-best finish. The junior improved on his 78th place finish at last season's championships by 13 positions. The Athens, Ga. native crossed the finish line in 31:43.7 to lead the Bucs at the event.
Sophomore Jaymee Domoney was the next Buccaneer across the line improving on his regional position from last season as well. Domoney crossed the line in 32:36.8 to finish 118th overall, improving from his 136th spot in 2017.
Trevor Dominy was third across the line for the Bucs. The junior crossed the line in 32:44.1 to place 124th overall in the field.
Andrew Akright and Matt Inman finished back-to-back to wrap up CSU's scorers at the NCAA Southeast Regional. Akright wrapped up a strong sophomore season placing 155th with a time of 33:21.2. Inman was next across the line in 156th with a time of 33:22.7.
