Stintzi announces 2018-19 cross country and track & field recruiting class

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jim Stinzi announced the 2018-19 Cross Country and Track & Field recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.

The Buccaneers added 24 athletes to their rosters for the upcoming seasons including 12 cross country athletes and 12 athletes dedicated to the track and field programs.

CSU is coming off of the most successful seasons in the Bucs' recent history including the men's cross country team recording its highest finish in the Big South Conference since the 1994 season, as well as the women's team sending two athletes to the NCAA Regionals.

The track and field programs both finished third overall at the Big South Outdoor Championships to cap off the 2018 season. The men's team placed third in the Indoor Championships, while the women finished fifth overall.

CSU opens the cross country schedule on September 1 with the Buccaneer Open held on the campus of Charleston Southern University.
