ROCK HILL, S.C. - Charleston Southern got one last chance to tune-up before the Big South Championships next week. They also got the chance to compete at the same location as the conference championship at the Winthrop Twilight on Wednesday afternoon.
Clarence Moss competed in all four throwing events and took second in the javelin with a mark of 35.88m. Freshman Jerome Rice threw in the discus, shot put, and hammer throw, and achieved a person best in the latter with a throw of 35.74m.
Timothy Davis highlighted the Bucs' jumpers by taking second in the triple jump with his best jump measuring 14.43m.
Joshua Paramore took home his best non-wind aided time of the season with a 10.68 in the 100m. Frankie Thomas ran his best 100m ever with a time of 11.21. The Bucs saw two PR's in the 200 with Justin Green' 21.66 and Phillip Finsterwalder's 22.41. Benjamin Eddy also ran a personal best with a 9:19.54 3K.
Drew Huff and Ethan Blevins raced in their first 2K steeplechase and finished first and third respectively. Roy Hyman found similar success in the 110m hurdles taking second place.Senior Keith Terry came close to his personal best mark in the 800m, crossing the line in 1:56.42. Josiah Scarlett also came close to a personal best in the 400 hurdles, taking the title with a 52.93 time.
The Bucs will return to Rock Hill on May 8th for the Big South Championships. The meet will run for three days beginning on Wednesday and finishing on Friday.
