DURHAM, N.C. - Charleston Southern took on a large field this weekend at the Duke Invitational. After a few events were completed Friday morning, weather forced most of the meet's events to be pushed to Saturday. The Bucs adjusted well and still managed to break several of their personal records.
Joshua Paramore turned in a pair of top 20 finishes in their large event fields. He finished the 100 meters in 10.73 and the 200 in 22.07. The men's 4x400 relay team placed second with a time of 3:18.93.
Timothy Davis and Frankie Thomas both competed in the long jump with with Davis also in the triple jump. He had the best finish among the three marks with a 14.75m triple jump that placed him seventh.
Clarence Moss was the lone thrower in action for the Bucs this weekend. His best discus throw was marked at 45.49m.
Jeryck Wilson achieved his second personal record in as many weeks. This week it was his 5K record that he brought down to 14:21.14, a time that ranks second in program history.
The Bucs had two 800 runners that came close to topping their personal bests as well. Andrew Akright (1:53.99) and Jaymee Domoney (1:54.97) each finished around a second away from their personal bests.
After a weekend off for exams, the Bucs will return to the track on Wednesday, May 1st for the Winthrop Twilight Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
