CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charleston Southern freshman distance runner Fearghal Curtin earned Big South Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Curtin kept up a pace that would not be touched from the start of the race as the freshman topped the field in the men's 1500m race. Curtin blistered the field with a time of 3:50.05 to take the individual title. His time was the second-fastest in CSU history trailing only Glen Gorton's time of 3:43.39 set back in 1985 at the Gatorade Classic in Knoxville, Tenn.
Winthrop senior Quemell Brave is this week's Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after claiming the long jump event at the 49er Classic with a jump of 7.51m.
