CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Charleston Southern junior guard Christian Keeling was recognized on the 2019 Big South Men's Basketball Championships All-Tournament team as announced by the conference office on Sunday afternoon.
Keeling paced the No. 6-seed Buccaneers to the semifinals for the first time since the 2013 season and was key in CSU's victories over No. 11 USC Upstate and No. 3 Winthrop.
The Augusta, Ga. native was one of the most efficient players in the tournament after starting the postseason with a 6-of-9 performance from the field on his way to a team-high 22 points in the Bucs' 71-52 win over USC Upstate. He followed up with 25 points and seven rebounds, including hitting 5-of-9 from the three-point line in CSU's 77-63 upset over Winthrop.
In the semifinals, Keeling again led the Buccaneers in the scoring column with 15 points and added five rebounds and two blocked shots against tournament runner-up Radford.
Keeling averaged 20.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game over the three-game set. The junior guard added 50.0% shooting from the field and 45.0% from behind the three-point arc while lining up 35.3 minutes per game.
Joining Keeling on the All-Tournament team was Gardner-Webb's DJ Laster (MVP) and David Efianayi, Radford's Ed Polite, Jr., and Campbell's Chris Clemons.
