CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern product Will Saunders has signed on for his fourth season as a professional basketball player. Saunders inked a deal with Valur Reykjavik of Iceland's Dominos League last week.
Saunders, a 2015 CSU graduate, spent last season with Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad of the Spanish LEB Gold league. The 6-7 forward has also played in Hungary, Italy and Romania. The highlight of his pro career has been a stint as a member of the British international program. Saunders represented the United Kingdom at the 2017 European Championships qualifier.
Saunders played at CSU from 2013-15, and earned Second Team All-Big South honors to help lead the Bucs to a regular season conference championship and NIT bid in 2015. He ranks seventh in program history in career three-point field goal percentage, and his 95 made threes in 2014-15 are the third-most in a single season in CSU annals.
Saunders is one of seven former Bucs currently enjoying professional playing careers.
