Bowen signs deal to play in Italy's top pro league

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern product Cedrick Bowen will continue his professional basketball career in Italy's top league this fall. Bowen agreed to a contract with Fiat Torino of Italy's Serie A this week, and will be coached by Basketball Hall of Famer Larry Brown, the only coach to win NBA and NCAA titles.

Bowen helped CSU to Big South Conference regular season championships in 2012-13 and 2014-15, and was an integral part of the second winningest four-year class in program history. The 6-5 forward started in parts of all four years of his career, and ranks second in program history with a nearly 60 percent field goal mark.

Since turning pro, Bowen has spent three seasons in Iceland, Montenegro, Macedonia, and the Balkans. He is one of seven former CSU players currently enjoying pro careers.
