Wallace named to All-Big South Academic Team for second straight year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern senior guard Patrick Wallace has been named to the Big South Conference All-Academic Team for the second straight year, the league office announced Monday.

Wallace, an excellent three-point shooter and vital member of CSU's leadership team, holds a 3.32 GPA as a Communications Studies major. The Charlotte, N.C., native minors in Psychology. He is a member of the Dean's List at CSU and will graduate this spring. Wallace has been accepted into Northwestern University's School of Professional Studies – Master's in Sports Administration program.

CSU head coach Barclay Radebaugh commented on the impact Wallace has made in his two years with the program.

"Patrick has been a tremendous asset to our program and to our team," Radebaugh said. "I'm thankful that the Big South recognized Patrick as one of our top student-athletes. Patrick is going to be amazingly successful in anything he attempts."

On the court, Wallace has started four games this season and knocked down 39 threes at 36 percent clip. He scored a season-high 13 points in Saturday's road win at Longwood and hit a three that helped put the game away with 1:30 remaining. Wallace enjoyed a stellar Senior Day in the Bucs' one-point victory over High Point, burying four triples en route to 12 points.

Wallace has connected on 111 threes in two years at CSU since transferring from North Carolina State.

Christian Keeling was CSU's other all-conference honoree. He was named to the All-Big South Freshman Team and earned Honorable Mention All-Conference.
