CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Charleston Southern redshirt junior punter Kyle Reighard was recognized as the Big South's Special Teams Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
It was the second weekly honor for the punter this season after previous receiving special teams recognition following the Savannah State game on October 6.
The Salem, Va. native averaged 40.2 yards over his nine punt attempts against the Runnin' Bulldogs. He consistently switched the field against Gardner-Webb in helping the Buccaneers win the field possession battle.
Reighard connected on a pair of 50-yard punt attempts and had four more that traveled further than 41 yards in the game. He added a career-high five punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Reighard is averaging 41.0 yards per attempt with 20 punts pinned into the 20-yard line on the season. He's added 24 fair catches to his totals.
Kennesaw State running back Darnell Holland has been named the Big South Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Owls' linebacker Charlie Patrick has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11 of the regular-season. Campbell wide receiver Caleb Snead is the Freshman of the Week.
