Bucs Earn No. 7 Seed in Big South Baseball Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern is the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed High Point on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the first round of the 2018 Big South Baseball Championship. Games will be played at Liberty Baseball Stadium in Lynchburg, VA, on May 22-26.

The Bucs are on a hot streak, having won six of their last nine and taking their last three Big South series. They'll be making their first appearance in the Big South Baseball Championship since 2015. 

Campbell earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Big South Baseball Championship and won the outright regular season title. The Camels finished 21-6 in conference play, placing two games ahead of second-place High Point. The Panthers are the No. 2 seed behind a 19-8 conference record.

Liberty (17-10) is the No. 3 seed while Winthrop (15-12) is No. 4, Gardner-Webb (14-13) is the No. 5 seed and Radford (14-13) is No. 6. Charleston Southern (10-17) earned the No. 7 seed and Longwood (9-17) is the No. 8 seed. Presbyterian (8-19) and UNC Asheville (8-19) did not qualify for the tournament.

The 2018 Big South Baseball Championship features the top eight teams in the league. The first and third day of games will air on the Big South Network, the second day will air on ESPN+, while the fourth day will air exclusively on ESPN3. The final day's winner-take-all championship game can be seen on ESPNU. The winner of the championship game receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
