"This is the most important time of our year as we try to get these guys to blend together as a team. It is a time where guys hopefully learn how we want to play. At the same time, guys are competing for jobs in the spring. I thought the energy was outstanding for the whole fall from the guys. I felt like the bought in and worked hard. Hopefully, all these guys feel like their better today than when we started the season."

Ward also said that the high scores are a testament to the hitting ability of his team.

"These guys have put in a lot of work and we've tried to emphasize intent throughout the fall. They are going up there and taking their best swings and not getting cheated at the plate. Everyone has worked really hard this fall and we're starting to see dividends."

The schedule for the 2018 season will be announced in the coming weeks.
